It works, with nice capacity...Apr 06, 2009

I like this air pot for 4 reasons, but don't like it for 5 also..
Like it for:
1.) Capacity 3.0 Liters
2.) nice 360 degrees swivel action, for people in the front, people in the back, people on the sides - can just swivel and fill.
3.) large Base makes it less prone to tip over.
4.) Glass interior - Makes me more comfortable that there are no plastic toxins or general metal that could be adding other toxins to my drink.
Don't like it for:
1.) Short - Makes it hard to maneuver larger cups, especially, when you have a drip catcher under the nozzle, to catch falling drips. (not included in package, its just something we put under ours, so that the coffee doesn't drip onto the table after someone filling their cups)
2.) The push button design - To get the coffee, you need to push down on the top center button, which depresses lower, place the wrist/hand at inconvenient positions (A raised lever is much easier to use - especially, if you have the other hand holding something else, you can just use your karate chop action, while your other hand is holding the cup that is getting filled - making sure it doesn't spill all over.)
3.) The lock - It's too easy switch it in the lock/unlock positions and also hard to find, if someone is unfamiliar with it. (which is, on the push dispenser button, it just turns from 12 o'clock to 11 o'clock (5 degrees) and its locked and unlocked.)
4.) Cleaning - Is a B____.. The hole is only about, maybe 2 inches in diameter.. I can't fit anything down there to scrub around if necessary. So as far as cleaning.. I've just been using mine for coffee, and completely filling it with scorching water - when not in use. And swishing soap in there, every other time after use. I think about, maybe using some vinegar/water mixture may help too..
5.)General design - For some reason, when this Air Pot is sat next to other air pots, this one is neglected, and chosen over, by the taller/push down lever models.
I could probably talk more about this pot, and if you read this entire review, I'm impressed. Sorry - if I bored anyone else to sleep. But to conclude, I wouldn't buy this model again. This model, was actually kinda pricey as well - I would sacrifice the capacity, and buy 2 other ones, with the levers.

What a fantastic pot.Dec 07, 2008
By G. Buxton Wow. I have to say that just three days in to owning this Airpot it has managed to impress me.
Yesterday morning I made a couple pots of coffee and filled the Airpot. Partially because I like coffee and wanted some to drink, but I also wanted to see how long it could keep it hot and drinkable over the number of hours I'd spend at work.
I woke up this morning and realized that I had gone to bed last night without cleaning it out, so I went to do so.
To my complete (and happy) surprise even after frequent draws yesterday, and then sitting on the counter in the kitchen over night the coffee in there was still hot enough for me to notice it wasn't cold. So I drew off a cup to check.
24 hours after filling and the coffee was still 125 degrees (F).

Great thermos - keeps everything hot over 24+ hoursJan 30, 2009

Bought this a couple of weeks back, and I am very happy overall. Having gone through several thermos with lackluster performance, I was hoping this one would be better. I was surprised and very pleased. With a three liter capacity there's plenty of water to go around now.
Pros:
1. Sturdy construction, very well put together,
2. Keep contents hot over 24+ hours.
3. Easy to clean stainless steel exterior.
Cons.
1. Glass thermos interior, may not be suitable for rough handling.
2. Plastic water recovery pipe, which will remain immersed in the hot water. I fixed this by getting an 8 inch length of copper tube, of 3/8 inch diameter, and replaced the plastic pipe with it.
I would give this 4 stars, and point 2 on the Cons list, is what kept it from getting a full 5. I would have thought that Zojirushi would have understood that plastic and hot water don't do well together.

Excellent ProductAug 24, 2011
By richj I was having a party and needed to serve regular and decaf coffee. I had a lot to do the day of the party and didn't want to be bothered making coffee at the last minute, so I wanted to buy two thermal carafes and make the coffee ahead of time.
I did a lot of research and found this one, as well as the Bunn 3.0 Liter Lever Action Airpot. Since I needed two pots, I decided to buy them both and then I could compare the two products. I have to say that both carafes are excellent and I highly recommend both of them.
About a week before the party, I did a temperature test with both carafes. I filled them each with 193-degree water from my coffee maker. After one hour, they both dropped 2-3 degrees; after two hours they both dropped 1-2 degrees more; I had to leave for a while, so my next temperature check was 10 hours from the start of my testing. At that point, the Zojirushi was at 176 degrees and the Bunn was at 174 degrees. Both were still extremely hot! The next day I took another reading. This was 12 hours later (22 hours from the start of my testing). At this point, the Zojirushi was at 158 degrees and the Bunn was at 152 degrees -- still hot enough to drink after 22 hours!
Of course, in actual use, the level of coffee will go down as people drink it, and hot coffee will be replaced by room-temperature air, which will cool the coffee down sooner than in my test. However, when we had the party, the coffee was very hot throughout the evening, and I even had a cup the next morning. Although it was probably not as hot as in my test, it was still drinkable.
There are some differences in these two pots, but none of these differences affect the ability to maintain the temperature of the liquids:
- The Zojirushi has a glass liner; the Bunn is stainless steel.
- The Zojirushi has a push button; the Bunn has a lever.
- The Zojirushi has a rotating base; the Bunn has a stationary base.
I can't say that any of these differences really matter to me. My main concern was keeping the coffee hot, and both products exceeded my expectations.

great airpotAug 18, 2008

We needed this pot for a 5 hour workshop where 30 people attended. Not only was the coffee hot for the entire workshop, but I took home the pot with some coffee still in it, and the next morning (after about 15 hours), the coffee was still piping hot with steam coming out of it! The next day after that it was (incredibly) still warm.
This item got one bad review because it arrived broken, which is the fault of the post office, not the pot.
