This is a high quality product and keeps my tea very hot even late into the day. After buying two of these, I personally think that it is not necessary to pour boiling hot water into the container prior to the first use. The heat retention difference is negligible.
The push button spout is very useful and lowers the possibility to burn oneself while pouring the drink.
Buying this for my super clumsy girlfriend who spills stuff on herself all the time, she has yet to burn herself pouring herself tea using the push-button top.
NOTE: If you are drinking any sugary drink, be sure to rinse out the cap after use to increase its lifespan. Since the cap is plastic, leaving sugary remains on the cap can make it a pain to clean later.

As always, a quality product from Zojirushi. I have also a rice cooker I have been using for 6 years and a water-boiler that I bought second-hand and has been going strong for a total of 4+ years between the old owner and me. I just bought this vacuum bottle and it seems like an equally solid piece of craftsmanship. Was a bit pricey, but I'm hoping it'll hold up for years and save me money in the long run. It certainly keeps liquid hot for a full day.

Have been using this for a month. Make coffee/tea in the morning and it's still hot and steaming at midnight!
I've been a long time customer of Zojirushi. My last vacuum bottle lasted for almost 10 years, until I forgot and left it at the hotel. Hopefully this one will last a long time like last one!

The Zojirushi vacuum bottle is, by far, the best insulated bottle I have ever owned. A bit pricey, but very well made, easy to clean, and functions as described. The quality of the stainless steel bottle is unique and sturdy. I ordered the silver color, and it actually sparkles under good light. I've been using it for over a month now and find that it's reliable, fits into tote bags with no spilling, and just looks sleek! As far as heat retention is concerned, I tried putting in hot tea overnight, and next morning, it was still hot. In fact, it was steaming when I poured the liquid in the lid/cup. The only drawback was that the instructions are written in Japanese; however, the mechanisms are easy to figure out and quite honestly a no-brainer. Gotten compliments at work, and I even encouraged my co-workers to get one for themselves!

I love it, love it, love it. It is so good in keeping hot things hot, that you put tea in it at night, and in the morning when you open it, you get the steaming hot tea. I guess all Zojirushi things are premium quality.
