No mess coffee serviceOct 26, 2011

After I first opened up this Apollo pump pot, (2-1/5 liter), I thought, Oh No!!! Its not going to be big enough, so I immediately ordered a second one...which worked out great for the way I planned on putting these into service. In central Illinois, every fall, we have a large fall drive, through beautiful country side, with all the great fall colors. This year over 8,000 people attended, well; drove it, and that is a great turnout. Through out this drive and in each small town, there are vendors, from very experienced artists with a myriad of wares to small garage sales or flea markets. I had the opportunity to open up an old vendor stand which had been closed for over 5 years, but was a favorite in my area. I knew if the mornings were cool, that visitors would want hot coffee, so I got on Amazon and found these pumps. They were perfect, each held more than enough, and if the second one started emptying, there was plenty of time to make a couple of pots from a regular coffee maker and refill the first one. The operation was very smooth, with a long full push down on the pump filling an 8 oz. coffee cup...not a styrofoam one either, a cup designated as use for coffee from a big box seller. My 13 year old granddaughter & her best friend manned the pumps with ease. There is a lock on top for transportation, which was very nice, as I filled one of these pumps from my home & then transported it just a little ways, but with so much on my mind for the first day, it was a relief to know that I didn't have to constantly worry that the very hot coffee would spill as I drove to the location. That lock was also nice when we were setting up...it ensured me that my granddaughter or her friend would not get burned as they set their table up. The handle is sturdy, the size is perfect to carry when full and it keeps coffee hot...for a very long time. I know, when the drive was over, I put both pumps in my vehicle, to clean & store, when I got home & I was tired, so they didn't get cleaned up until the next day. One pot was half full and the coffee was still hot, 24 hours later!
I plan to use these through out the holidays and also at my husband's waterfowl hunting cabin for big groups of hunters. I am really happy with this purchase, and I expect quality from everything I buy. The size fits nicely in a home sized sink to clean or rinse, & they don't take up tons of space to store, when not in use. I would recommend this pump highly, its reasonably priced and, of course, if you are an Amazon Prime member, you get these fast...I ordered mine the same week that I was planning on using them, & as Amazon ALWAYS delivers them in 2 days w/free shipping, I don't know how much more you can ask for. PS: I paid for both pumps the first week-end of the fall drive...not bad!!!!

We bought this pot to replace a skimpy 10 cup Coffee carafe. Talk about ridiculous to sublime. This pot holds an enormous amount of coffee! The pump action is smooth and works well.

Disapointing Heat RetentionDec 09, 2011
By Scott B. Carle I have beeen using a glass lined air pot I purchased at walmart for 14 dollars the last 2 or 3 years. It has given good service but the seal at the neck was some sort of putty. It was getting old and pieces of it were falling into the interior into the liquid. I had previously purchased a Stanley Professional Air pot for our boat that had a Stainless liner rather than glass one as the glass ones break if they are bounced off the counter by a wave. I purchased this one for my home based on how much I had liked the Stanley with the stainless liner. I hadn't really looked at the brand of the one on the boat when I purchased this one just saw that it had good reviews.
I have to say that it works, but not as well as either the cheap walmart one or the Stanley professional with the stainless liner. The 14 dollar walmart one would have medium warm water in it 12 hours later. The Stanley Professional would have water that was hot enough to hurt 12 hours later. This one has lukewarm water 12 hours later.
I drink a lot of tea and hot chocolate. With this air pot I need to reheat the water every 3 hours or so to have water hot enough to brew tea. It is more than double that with the Stanley.
In the end I will be purchasing a stanley as this one just irritates me knowing how much I paid for it and that a cheap 14 dollar glass lined one from walmart outperforms it.

Not as hot as I thoughtDec 04, 2011
By Madigan I purchased two of these airpots for a community gathering. We were making hot cocoa and handing it out. I poured boiling water into them and was surprised after the glowing reviews I read, that only an hour later the water was just warm. I was really hoping that it would take a couple of minutes for our beverage to cool off, so it was as hot as folks wanted when they drank it. Oh well, for the price, not too bad. Glad I have a Bunn as a back up.

Does the jobMar 30, 2011
By VA Mom Bought this to replace our old carafe with a broken lid hinge. Went shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond to purchase a replacement, but they don't have this style any more. It works great, keeps the left over morning coffee hot for later. It holds a lot of coffee. Our 12 cup coffee carafe only fills it up about half way. I've found that if I pre-heat the thermos with hot water, the coffee will stay hot into the afternoon. It will be great for the holidays when family comes over. We always go thru several pots of coffee.
